Job Title: Kubernetes Container Platform Engineer

Job Summary:

Kubernetes Container Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and optimizing containerized environments using Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes. This role supports development and operations teams by ensuring scalable, secure, and highly available container platforms across hybrid cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Engineering & Operations

• Deploy, manage, and maintain OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters across environments (Dev, QA, Prod).
• Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Perform upgrades, patching, and configuration management.
• Monitor cluster health and manage alerts using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.

Automation & CI/CD Integration

• Automate cluster operations using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and scripting (Python, Bash).
• Integrate CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitOps, and other DevOps tools.
• Support automated deployments and release planning.

Security & Governance

• Implement and enforce security policies, RBAC, and AD integration.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and apply necessary patches.
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with organizational standards.

Support & Collaboration

• Provide technical guidance to development teams on containerization best practices.
• Troubleshoot platform and application issues in containerized environments.
• Assist with onboarding applications and teams to the platform.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 37 years of experience with Kubernetes platforms.
• Strong Linux system administration and networking skills.
• Proficiency in container technologies (Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud environments.
• Certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or Red Hat OpenShift are a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with microservices architecture and container orchestration.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning capabilities.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
