Korea/Japan/ASEAN (ex-Singapore) - Area Tax Manager

Responsibilities

• Performs and reviews tax compliance to include the preparation and filing of the direct and indirect taxes of the area.
• Attend tax audits and respond/resolve issues with tax authorities.
• Pursue tax saving opportunities and conduct complex research & analysis for improvements.
• Performs tax accounting to support the monthly/annual tax provision calculations and review of the relevant financial statements of the area.
• Manages the country tax strategy and provides strategic tax advice to support business decisions and ongoing operations.
• Partner up with sites or businesses to identify and resolve local and international tax problems.
• Guides and prioritizes the activities of individual contributors and works independently and receives minimal needed guidance.
• Team up with other areas/country tax organization for local/international tax compliance and problem solving.

Requirements

• Qualified Chartered Accountants or equivalent recognized professional qualification.
• 10 to 15 years of overall working experience, with at least 5 to 7 years in a leadership role covering people and/or process management.
• Willingness to work flexible hours to support regional and global stakeholders across different time zones.
• Strong technical knowledge in Accounting and Tax relevant to the scope of work.
• Excellent analytical capabilities with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-border and cross-functional teams.
• Strong business communication skills, with proven experience in managing performance metrics and reporting.
• Adaptable and collaborative mindset, with the ability to coordinate across geographically dispersed teams and partner with tax managers globally.
• Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
