Job Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop change kit (retrofit) solutions for advanced semiconductor equipment. This role focuses on precision mechanical design, system integration, and enabling production-ready upgrades to enhance equipment performance and extend product lifecycle.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and develop precision mechanical solutions for change kits (retrofit kits), including material handling systems and thermal head integration.
- Collaborate with Electrical and Software Engineers to define system requirements and deliver integrated engineering solutions.
- Perform mechanical design activities including component selection, tolerance stack-up analysis, motion system design, and component evaluation.
- Support full lifecycle development from concept design through validation and release to manufacturing.
- Conduct mechanical analysis, characterisation, and validation present findings, risks, and recommendations during technical reviews.
- Develop and document assembly processes, including Work Instructions, BOM, and technical documentation to support Production and field implementation.
- Ensure engineering changes are properly documented and controlled in accordance with quality and manufacturing requirements.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and customers to review and update technical specifications, drawings, and deliverables.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance, reliability, and serviceability.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in equipment design within semiconductor, automation, solar, or consumer electronics industries.
- Strong fundamentals in mechanical engineering concepts and problem-solving, including tolerance stack-up analysis and exposure to Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks (mandatory).
- Experience in change management, retrofit design, or change kit development is an advantage.
- Familiarity with semiconductor equipment and thermal mechanical solutions is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and customers.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
