Role Overview
Seeking a Technical Kinaxis RapidResponse Consultant to support and enhance our enterprise supply‑chain planning platform. This role focuses on technical configuration, data modeling, performance optimization, and integrations within Kinaxis RapidResponse, supporting ASM's high‑complexity, high‑precision manufacturing environment.
You will work closely with Global IT, Supply Chain Planning, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable, and performant planning solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Kinaxis Technical Configuration & Modeling
- Design, configure, and maintain Kinaxis RapidResponse data models, including:
- Items, Locations, BOMs, Resources, Calendars
- Develop and optimize measures, expressions, and planning logic
- Design and configure:
- Exception logic & alerts
- Scenario planning and comparisons
- Time‑phased planning views
- Ensure model performance, scalability, and maintainability
Integration & Data Management
- Support and enhance integrations between Kinaxis and upstream/downstream systems, including:
- SAP S4HANA
- Manufacturing and master data systems
- Work with IT integration teams on:
- Data mappings and transformations
- Full vs delta data loads
- Data refresh cycles and latency management
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and root‑cause analysis of data issues
Workspace & Visualization Design
- Design and configure technical workspaces, dashboards, and tables for:
- Supply planners
- Capacity planners
- Management and executive users
- Ensure workspaces are:
- Performance‑optimized
- Exception‑driven
- Easy to troubleshoot and explain
Testing, Deployment & Support
- Support:
- Unit testing
- System Integration Testing (SIT)
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Troubleshoot complex planning, data, and performance issues
- Support cutover, go‑live, and hypercare activities
- Provide ongoing system support and continuous improvement
Required Skills & Experience
Supply Chain Knowledge (Required)
- Solid understanding of:
- Supply planning
- Capacity & constraint‑based planning
- Inventory planning
- Ability to translate business planning logic into technical Kinaxis configuration
Demand Planning & Forecasting (Technical Focus)
- Configure and maintain demand data models in Kinaxis RapidResponse, including:
- Independent vs dependent demand
- Forecast vs actual demand measures
- Customer, product, and location hierarchies
- Design and maintain forecast measures, including:
- Statistical forecast inputs
- Adjusted / consensus forecast
- Forecast versioning and scenario comparisons
- Implement forecast consumption logic, aligning forecast with orders across time buckets
- Configure time‑phase logic (historical, near‑term, mid‑term, long‑term forecasting horizons)
- Build and optimize forecast accuracy and bias measures (e.g., MAPE‑style logic, variances)
- Design demand‑related exception logic, such as:
- Forecast variance thresholds
- Demand spikes and drops
- Late or missing demand signals
- Support what‑if simulation for demand changes and assess downstream supply and capacity impacts
Supply Planning & Constraints (Technical Focus)
- Configure supply planning measures supporting:
- Planned supply
- On‑hand and in‑transit inventory
- Supply response to demand changes
- Implement and optimize constraint‑based logic for:
- Capacity
- Material availability
- Lead‑time feasibility
- Design logic for:
- Supply prioritization and allocation
- Pegging demand to supply
- Shortage identification and root‑cause analysis
- Configure time‑phased supply views supporting planner decision‑making
- Design and tune supply exceptions, such as:
- Uncovered demand
- Late supply
- Capacity overloads
- Support supply what‑if scenarios (alternate sourcing, expediting, inventory burn‑down)
Performance & Calculation Optimization for Demand/Supply (Technical Focus)
- Optimize calculation dependencies between demand, supply, and inventory measures
- Identify and resolve:
- Circular dependencies
- Overly granular calculations affecting performance
- Tune expressions for:
- Large time horizons
- High‑volume item/location combinations
- Ensure demand and supply logic scales across:
- Multi‑site
- Multi‑product
- Global planning models
IT & System Integration
- Experience working with SAP data (PP, MM, APO, or IBP preferred)
- Understanding of:
- ERP master data structures
- Planning vs execution data
- Data governance and quality controls
- Ability to work effectively with IT integration and infrastructure teams
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Experience in semiconductor or high‑tech manufacturing
- Kinaxis RapidResponse Certification
- SAP APO / IBP / PP background
- Experience supporting global or multi‑site planning models
- Exposure to other planning tools (APO, IBP, O9, Blue Yonder)
