Howden is a specialist commercial insurance broker. Its regional footprint covers Singapore (regional headquarters), Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, and Philippines. It is part of the London-headquartered Howden Broking Group, a leading independent, global broker with offices in over 55 countries worldwide.

We are seeking a proactive and technically proficient experienced insurance broker to support the management of large corporate MNC clients. This role involves contributing to renewal reviews, insurance placement, and advisory services in close consultation with director and team head. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong market knowledge, client servicing capabilities, and a collaborative approach to delivering high-quality insurance solutions.

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the team members and team head to manage clients accounts by supporting and conducting renewal review, facilitating expert insurance placement, and providing technical knowledge, advisory input, and market insights to ensure clients satisfaction and retention.
  • Support the team in managing day-to-day aspects of designated accounts, including transactional work, interacting with senior brokers, and representing the business to ensure overall satisfaction and compliance.
  • Address account concerns or issues and effectively resolve both minor and complex problems in a timely manner, in consultation with director and team head.
  • Develop and communicate a strong understanding of client businesses by conducting and analyzing client research, exploring industry issues, preparing benchmarking studies, and creating risk maps for internal and external use.
  • Build and maintain strong and collaborative relationship with Insurers, colleagues and network offices / partners worldwide.
  • Foster strong client relationships, understand their needs across all general classes of insurance, and ensure placement with clients selected insurer programs
  • Proactively manage tasks and challenges, and propose effective resolution options
  • Undertake any other initiatives, ad-hoc projects and any additional duties as assigned to you by the company from time to time.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BE:

  • A Bachelor's degree qualification preferably majoring in banking & finance, actuarial science, or accountancy / finance.
  • Preference will be given to ACII / ANZII Accreditation candidates.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in insurance broking or risk advisory, preferably with exposure to large MNC corporate clients and global insurance programmes.
  • Solid understanding of general insurance products and market practices.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, resourceful and meticulous
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • Able to multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Able to work independently as well as within a team
  • Good interpersonal skills – able to communicate well across organizational levels
