Job Summary
The Key Account Manager (Life Sciences) will manage strategic accounts in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and research sectors. This role focuses on driving sales of life science products and solutions, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and supporting customers in achieving their scientific and business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the management and growth of relationships with major life science accounts including academic institutions, biotech firms, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, and polytechnics to drive business expansion
- Develop and execute tailored account strategies that increase product adoption and revenue within assigned accounts
- Promote molecular biology reagents, genomics tools, and laboratory solutions by applying consultative selling techniques to meet customer research needs
- Analyze customer workflows to identify and provide solutions that support their scientific objectives and operational efficiency
- Collaborate with technical specialists to identify opportunities for custom solutions that address complex customer challenges
- Monitor industry trends in genomics, next-generation sequencing (NGS), and molecular diagnostics to inform account strategies and product positioning
- Provide actionable feedback to marketing and product development teams to support innovation and address emerging customer needs
- Coordinate closely with headquarters, marketing, logistics, and technical support teams to ensure seamless customer service and satisfaction
- Report account performance, including revenue growth, customer retention, and product adoption metrics, to the General Manager in Singapore
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology) or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in life science sales or account management
- Strong understanding of genomics, molecular biology, or NGS workflows
- Proven ability to manage complex accounts and multi-stakeholder relationships effectively
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- PhD in a relevant life sciences discipline
