We are seeking a passionate and driven Junior Sous Chef to support our kitchen leadership and contribute to the continuous evolution of our cuisine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in daily kitchen operations to ensure consistent, high-quality execution of dishes.
- Lead and supervise assigned stations, maintaining precision, efficiency, and adherence to Willow's culinary standards.
- Assist in menu development, contributing ideas rooted in seasonality, creativity, and Asian fine-dining sensibilities.
- Uphold strict food safety, hygiene, and organisational standards in accordance with restaurant and regulatory requirements.
- Train, guide, and mentor junior kitchen team members, fostering a culture of discipline, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless communication and exceptional guest experiences.
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and proper storage of ingredients and supplies.
- Stay updated on contemporary culinary trends, techniques, and ingredients, especially within Asian cuisine.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a fine-dining or upscale kitchen environment, with at least one year in a supervisory or senior cook position.
- Strong technical cooking skills and understanding of modern and traditional Asian culinary techniques.
- Excellent organisational abilities, with a keen eye for detail and consistency.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and support team members in a fast-paced, high-performance kitchen.
- Passion for innovation, craftsmanship, and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards relevant certifications are an advantage.
