As a Junior Sommelier, you will play a key role in guiding guests through this curated journey, sharing your expertise, and enhancing their dining experience with exceptional service and wine knowledge. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the restaurant manager in curating, presenting, and maintaining the wine and beverage program.
- Provide knowledgeable guidance to guests on wine pairings, beverage selections, and tasting notes.
- Conduct wine service at the table, ensuring proper presentation, decanting, and serving etiquette.
- Support inventory management, including stock rotation, ordering, and storage of wines and spirits.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create harmonious food and wine pairings for menus and special events.
- Stay updated on wine trends, regions, and new releases to continually enhance the beverage program.
- Maintain the wine cellar and service areas to uphold cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety standards.
- Assist in training staff on wine knowledge and service standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 12 years experience in a fine-dining environment or beverage program assistance.
- WSET Level 2 or equivalent is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Passion for wine, service, and hospitality excellence.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
