Junior Site Reliability Engineer (Python/Java/Go) - SRM

The Site Reliability Engineer will be part of the Site Reliability Management (SRM) team in system design consulting, enhance platform management, and capacity planning discussion for application as well as infrastructure improvement, and is also involved in setup & implement initiative to improve the over reliability.

He/She will participate in site reliability engineering (SRE) activities under Responsibilities, to ensure the SRE initiated programs are on track. He/She will have the hands-on opportunity in building software & tools to manage & optimize infrastructure & applications. We also would like to see implemented solutions that are automated and for him/her to make complex technical processes more streamlined and efficient. He/she will also act as the primary operational and engineering support for multiple large distributed software applications.

• Provides emergency response either by being on-call or by reacting to symptoms according to monitoring and escalation when needed
• Delivers production solutions that scale, identifies automation points, and proposes ideas on how to improve efficiency
• Improves monitoring and alerting fighting alert spam
• Improves documentation all around, either in application documentation, or in runbooks, explaining the why, not stopping with the what
• Shares the learnings publicly, either by creating issues that provide context for anyone to understand it or by writing workplace posts.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or other related disciplines
• Ability to program (structured and OO) with any of the languages, such as Python, Java, C#, and JavaScript
• Experience with infrastructure technologies like Operating Systems (Windows and Linux), networking, storage, virtualisation
• Familiar with testing automation tools
• A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks
• Specialise in 1 or 2 :

- Great software engineer and able to code in resolving defects or vulnerabilities of our systems
- Use infrastructure automation tools such as Chef or Ansible to efficiently manage our infrastructure
- Implement 'Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and CI/CD for automation
- Load balancing and high availability architecture of application including Proxies and CDN through the use of F5
- Openshift and containerizing our system
- Administer and manage high-availability, high-performance Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle cluster
- Monitoring and Metrics in Dynatrace, ELK or eG and integrations with Dynatrace / ITSM
- Logging infrastructure
- Key, certificate and secrete management
- Backend storage management and scaling
- Disaster Recovery and High Availability strategy
