We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer to administer and support our network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security across all sites and data centers.
Key Responsibilities
Network Infrastructure Administration
- Administer and support routers, switches, wireless access points, WLAN controllers, AAA servers, and encryptors.
- Respond to and diagnose network access and performance tickets:
- Service and close support tickets for wired and wireless client endpoints.
- Troubleshoot 802.1X authentication/authorization issues and escalate L2/L3 issues as necessary.
- Monitor network availability and respond immediately to system alerts.
- Perform root cause analysis of incidents and replace failed network components.
- Execute routine automation tasks to maintain secure configurations, backup management, and firmware upgrades.
- Manage operational activities and implement network changes.
- Track equipment lifecycle, procure replacements, and ensure timely project closure and payment.
- Manage network support agreements and telco circuit contracts, including renewals and payments.
- Support project teams in delivering IT services.
Network Communications Rooms & Data Centre Management
- Standardize and provision cabling for network access and data centers.
- Respond to alerts and resolve UPS and PDU faults.
- Work with contractors to replace faulty UPS and PDU units.
- Coordinate with Facilities Management for M&E issues (air-conditioning, electrical, fire safety) in network comms rooms.
- Escort external vendors/contractors for network-related activities.
Inventory &Documentation
- Maintain clear and concise documentation of network infrastructure, rack layouts, and cabling interconnects.
- Keep inventory up-to-date and perform periodic audits.
- Retire obsolete equipment following organizational procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
- Formal technical certification such as Cisco CCNA is preferred.
- Experience in network automation and scripting using tools like Ansible, Python,Terraform, GitLab is a plus.
- Strongcustomer service orientation with excellent communication skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
