Job Description: Junior Producer

Reports to: General Manager / Artistic Director

Role Overview

The Junior Producer supports the General Manager and Artistic Director in planning, coordinating, and delivering productions, workshops, and community programmes. This role is ideal for someone passionate about theatre and puppetry who is eager to learn the ropes of producing while contributing to a creative and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Support
    • Assist in the planning and coordination of productions, rehearsals, and performances.
    • Provide logistical and administrative support, including scheduling, venue liaison, and coordinating with artists and crew.
    • Support in managing production timelines and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Administrative & Financial Assistance
    • Assist in preparing budgets, processing invoices, and maintaining records.
    • Support grant applications, reporting, and project documentation.
    • Handle basic contracts and communications with vendors and collaborators.
  • Learning & Development
    • Gain hands-on experience in producing processes from start to finish.
    • Build networks within the local arts scene and with international partners.
    • Participate in company discussions on artistic direction and audience development.

Requirements

  • Passion for theatre, puppetry, and children's arts.
  • Some experience in arts management, production, events, or related fields preferred (internship/volunteer experience accepted).
  • Organised, proactive, and detail-oriented with good multitasking skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities bilingual in English and Mandarin preferred.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends when required for productions or festivals.
  • Eager to learn and grow into a producing role.
