Job Title: Junior Procurement Officer cum Administrative Assistant

Job Summary

Yang Ah Kang & Sons Pte Ltd is seeking a meticulous and proactive Junior Procurement Officer / Administrative Assistant to support procurement and administrative functions within our construction and materials operations. The role will involve sourcing, purchasing, and coordination of building materials such as timber, stainless steel, masonry products, and general construction supplies, while also assisting with day-to-day office administration.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Support

  • Assist in sourcing and evaluating suppliers for timber, stainless steel, masonry materials, and general construction materials
  • Liaise with Shanghai office, as well as China suppliers and Partners
  • Request and compare quotations to ensure cost competitiveness and quality compliance
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders in accordance with project requirements
  • Coordinate with suppliers on delivery timelines, order confirmations, and discrepancies
  • Monitor inventory levels and support timely replenishment of materials
  • Liaise with site/ factory personnel to ensure materials meet project specifications and schedules
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including price lists, supplier contracts, and purchase history
  • Support negotiation efforts with vendors under guidance from Procurement Manager

Administrative Duties

  • Provide general administrative support to procurement and operations teams
  • Maintain proper filing of invoices, delivery orders, and procurement documents
  • Assist in data entry, report preparation, and documentation tracking - including accounting & finance administration
  • Provide support to ensure seamless integration between tender, procurement and operational communications and information platforms
  • Coordinate internal communications between office, factory and project sites
  • Manage office supplies and support basic logistics arrangements
  • Maintain price lists and procurement platforms
  • Handle ad-hoc administrative tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Singaporean only
  • Diploma or equivalent in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or related field
  • 2 - 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, or administrative roles (construction industry exposure is an advantage)
  • Familiarity with construction materials such as timber, stainless steel, masonry, and general building supplies is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel for tracking and reporting)
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with suppliers or contractors in the construction sector
  • Basic knowledge of local procurement practices and supplier networks in Singapore
  • Familiarity with inventory or procurement systems (ERP)
  • Basic Chinese (optional)

Remuneration
