Project-based Network Engineer responsible for Cisco switch burn-in testing, firmware/IOS upgrades, configuration, validation, and troubleshooting. Handles pre-staging, backup and restoration, and deployment support to ensure stable network performance. CCNA certification is required. Must be prepared to provide standby support post-deployment to address any arising issues and ensure smooth project handover and operational stability.
Perform Cisco switch burn-in testing to ensure hardware stability and performance before deployment.
Job description include but no limited to:
- Execute firmware and IOS upgrades for Cisco switches in accordance with project requirements.
- Configure and pre-stage Cisco switches (VLAN, trunking, basic routing, IP addressing).
- Conduct post-upgrade validation, functional testing, and health checks.
- Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and configuration-related issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of firmware versions, configurations, and upgrade activities.
- Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders on upgrade schedules and downtime planning.
- Perform backup and restoration of switch configurations before and after firmware upgrades.
- Provide technical support during deployment and on-site implementation when required.
- Prepare technical reports and handover documentation upon project completion
