Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for a Junior / Lighting Specialist with strong hands-on production experience to support studio and outdoor shoots, including podcasts, interviews, digital content, live productions, and other content-driven productions.

Working under the Lighting Manager, this role cross-collaborates with a multidisciplinary team within STUDIO+65 to shape visual mood and deliver high-impact aesthetics for digital and social media platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, adjust, and strike professional lighting and grip equipment.
  • Execute lighting setups for studio, outdoor, and location productions.
  • Shape light using fixtures, diffusion, flags, reflectors, modifiers, and other grip equipment.
  • Operate lighting fixtures and control systems, including DMX and GrandMA3.
  • Support pre-lighting, rehearsals, programming, and live productions.
  • Troubleshoot lighting, DMX, power, cabling, and fixture issues.
  • Adapt lighting setups to different locations, weather, ambient light, and production requirements.
  • Work closely with Camera, Engineering, Production, and other departments during shoots.
  • Maintain and organise lighting and grip equipment.
  • Support and guide interns or junior team members when required.
  • Follow safe working practices at all times.

Requirements

  • 5 years or more of relevant production experience is preferred, particularly in studio, broadcast, film/video, digital content, live production, events, or location shoots.
  • Candidates with less experience will also be considered based on strong hands-on production and lighting experience.
  • Good practical knowledge of lighting equipment and scamera lighting.
  • Understanding of colour temperature, exposure, diffusion, contrast, and light shaping.
  • Experience with DMX / GrandMA3 is an advantage.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and take direction from the Lighting Manager or Lead.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including studio and location shoots.
  • Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including prolonged periods of standing and lifting of equipment.
  • Proficiency in English language and at least one other language, Chinese, Malay or Tamil is an added advantage
