Job Description

What you'll do:

As a Junior KYC Name Screening Analyst based in Singapore's private wealth division, you will be entrusted with protecting both the organisation and its clients from financial crime risks through diligent name screening activities. Your day-to-day work will involve conducting comprehensive checks on individuals and entities associated with private wealth accounts using sophisticated tools. You will analyse potential matches against various watchlists such as sanctions lists, PEP registers, and adverse media sources-ensuring every alert is handled with precision. By preparing detailed reports that document your investigative actions and collaborating closely with relationship managers as well as compliance teams, you will help maintain robust controls over client onboarding and ongoing monitoring processes.

  • Conduct thorough name screening checks on both new and existing clients using advanced screening tools and databases, ensuring all alerts are reviewed with accuracy and care.
  • Assess potential matches by analysing client information against global sanction lists, politically exposed persons (PEP) registers, adverse media sources, and other relevant data points to identify possible risks.
  • Prepare detailed reports on findings by documenting the rationale for decisions made during the screening process while maintaining clear audit trails for future reference.
  • Collaborate closely with relationship managers, compliance officers, and other stakeholders to resolve screening alerts efficiently and responsibly through open communication.
  • Escalate high-risk or complex cases to senior compliance personnel in accordance with established escalation protocols to ensure timely resolution of critical issues.
  • Support periodic reviews of existing client portfolios by performing ongoing due diligence checks as required by regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of name screening procedures by sharing insights and feedback with colleagues and management for enhanced operational effectiveness.
  • Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on evolving regulations, typologies of financial crime, and best practices in KYC processes.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects related to anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF), or other compliance initiatives as needed by the department.

What you bring:

To excel as a Junior KYC Name Screening Analyst within this esteemed private wealth division, your background should reflect hands-on exposure to client due diligence or financial crime prevention gained from reputable financial institutions. Your expertise should encompass practical knowledge of name screening processes involving sanctions lists, PEPs, or adverse media sources-enabling you to assess complex information thoughtfully while upholding accuracy at every stage. In addition to technical proficiency with industry-standard systems like World-Check or Dow Jones Risk & Compliance, your strong analytical capabilities allow you to interpret intricate data sets effectively.

  • Demonstrated experience in KYC name screening or similar roles within private banking or wealth management environments is highly desirable for this position.
  • Proven familiarity with global sanctions lists, PEP identification processes, adverse media screening techniques, and relevant regulatory requirements is expected from successful candidates.
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard screening systems such as World-Check or Dow Jones Risk & Compliance would be advantageous for effective performance.
  • Excellent analytical skills are required for interpreting complex data sets accurately while exercising sound judgement throughout investigative processes.
  • Strong written communication abilities are necessary for preparing clear reports and maintaining precise records of investigative actions taken during screenings.
  • A collaborative mindset enables you to work effectively within cross-functional teams while supporting shared objectives across departments.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and sensitivity when handling confidential information related to clients or transactions is essential for this role.
  • Adaptability to changing regulatory landscapes through ongoing learning and participation in training initiatives demonstrates your commitment to professional growth.
  • A keen eye for detail coupled with a methodical approach ensures consistency in delivering quality outcomes under tight deadlines.
