Job Description

Role Summary

The Junior Electronics Engineer will support the design, development, and testing of electronic systems for industrial and defense applications. This entry-level role involves assisting in power electronics, embedded systems, signal processing, and instrumentation projects, ensuring reliability and compliance with Oil & Gas industry standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

Design & Development Support

  • Assist in designing low-voltage DC power systems (200 VDC) for sensors, chips, and industrial equipment.
  • Support development of wiring, analog and digital circuits, including amplifiers, filters, and logic circuits.
  • Contribute to embedded system integration using microcontrollers and basic interfacing protocols (SPI, I2C, UART).

Testing & Troubleshooting

  • Perform basic testing of DC-DC converters, voltage regulators, and signal conditioning circuits.
  • Assist in troubleshooting electronic components under supervision.
  • Support calibration and maintenance of sensors and data acquisition systems.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of test results, component specifications, and design changes.
  • Prepare simple technical reports and assist in compliance documentation.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with senior engineers on industrial automation, military-grade systems, and ruggedized electronics.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of power electronics (buck/boost converters, regulators).
  • Familiarity with analog/digital circuits and semiconductor devices.
  • Exposure to embedded systems and programming (C preferred).
  • Knowledge of communication protocols (UART, RS232, CAN) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in simulation tools (i.e., SPICE) and PCB design basics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience (internship or academic projects in electronics preferred).
  • Strong willingness to learn advanced topics like, but not limited to DSP, control systems, and electromagnetics.

General

  • Commitment to safety and compliance with quality standards.
  • Must demonstrate a strong hands-on approach and willingness to work directly with hardware, tools, and real-world systems.
  • Able to travel extensively, to work in a team and fast-paced industrial environments.
