Junior Data Engineer (AWS Architect)

The Junior Data Engineer (AWS Architect) will be responsible for the following:

Architecture & Design:

• Support the design of the AWS Data Lake and Lakehouse solution across Landing, Transformed, and Curated zones
• Help apply data architecture standards and build reusable ingestion pipelines

Development & Deployment:

• Build data ingestion and transformation pipelines using AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, and Redshift
• Help maintain the AWS Glue Data Catalogue, including schema and metadata tracking

Security & Governance:

• Help configure data security using AWS Lake Formation, IAM, and Secrets Manager
• Support compliance with data classification, retention, and audit requirements

Maintenance & Operations:

• Monitor platform health and pipeline reliability, and troubleshoot data issues

Qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years in data engineering, data architecture, or cloud infrastructure
• Hands on experience with core AWS data services (S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, Kinesis, Step Functions, Lake Formation)
• Strong SQL and at least one scripting language (Python or Scala)
• Experience with Data Lake or Lakehouse architectures
• AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate or Solutions Architect, or equivalent
• Experience with Tableau, MLOps/SageMaker, Salesforce integration via AppFlow, or CDC patterns
• Prior experience in a government or public sector data environment
