About the firm
Our client is a technology-led consulting start-up focused on the financial services industry, created as an alternative to traditional consulting firms where rapid expansion has often diluted depth, quality, and impact. The firm brings together top-tier talent in AI, digital, and financial services to work in small, high-calibre teams that prioritise client-focused work and measurable outcomes.
Role overview
The Junior Consultant (Generalist) role is an early-career position for candidates with 25 years of experience in consulting, product, data, or innovation. You will support project delivery across a range of topics, with a particular emphasis on AI and data-driven initiatives, helping senior team members deliver high-quality work for financial services clients. This is a hands-on role in a sub-20 person, high-growth office with strong exposure to founders and senior consultants and clear potential for rapid progression.
Key responsibilities
- Support project delivery through structured research, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and clear synthesis of findings.
- Build high-quality client materials, including PowerPoint decks, Excel-based analyses, and written reports or memos.
- Assist in preparing and running client workshops and meetings, including materials, facilitation support, and documentation of actions and decisions.
- Contribute to AI and data analytics (AI/DA) deliverables, such as use case scans, opportunity assessments, and simple data-driven insights under guidance from senior team members.
- Conduct market, competitor, and regulatory research across financial services, AI, and digital innovation topics.
- Work closely with more senior consultants to structure problems, develop hypotheses, and test solutions.
- Help maintain internal knowledge assets, templates, and best practices to support future projects.
What you bring
- 25 years of experience in consulting, product, data, innovation, or a related analytical role, ideally with some exposure to financial services or technology.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work with data, draw insights, and present them clearly.
- Very good writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and well-structured documents and slides.
- High proficiency in PowerPoint (or equivalent) for storyboarding and deck building, and in desk research for quickly building an understanding of new topics.
- Fast learner, comfortable working across new industries, topics, and problem statements with guidance.
- Genuine interest in AI and data analytics, and curiosity about how these can be applied to solve real business problems in financial services.
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of quality in all deliverables.
- Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively in small teams and take feedback constructively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering, computer science, data, or a related discipline.
- Any coursework, projects, or self-learning related to AI, data, or programming is a plus but not mandatory.
What this role offers
- Opportunity to build a strong consulting toolkit in a small, entrepreneurial firm with direct exposure to senior leadership.
- Broad project exposure across strategy, product, AI, data, and digital transformation in financial services.
- A culture that values learning, craftsmanship, and measurable impact over traditional consulting bureaucracy.
- Clear progression path for high performers as the firm and Singapore office grow, with increasing responsibility over time.
