About The Job
#Junior Buyer position will be responsible for identifying HUNTER BOOTS seasonal buys for the assigned market based on the understanding of brand direction, category strategy, consumer preference and market trends.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Buying and Assortment Planning
- Make strategies for buying and monitor the product performance across retail, ecom and WHS channels to deliver the sales targets, inventory levels, margins, turns, and sales promotions to ensure maximum return on investment.
- Build the product assortments that prioritize brand storytelling, head-to-toe customer experience and maximize sales in each market.
- Place PO to suppliers and track lead times to ensure quality and timely delivery with internal teams and external partners.
Merchandising and Planning
- Partner and work closely with Retail/Ecom Planning to develop seasonal merchandise plans to drive accurate sales and open-to-buy planning, seasonal launching and product lifecycle planning.
- Track product performance results and make recommendations to maximize profitability through effective in-season management practices.
GTM Product Strategies
- Build the seasonal line highlights and USP, with a clear GTM direction to support the business needs.
- Stay informed about industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitive activity. Provide insights on emerging trends to inform design and marketing strategies.
Inventory and Stock Management
- Accountable for Carryover performance and recommend actions based on sales trend.
- Monitor inventory levels to minimize overstock and markdown risks.
- Develop strategies to manage slow-moving products and optimize sell-through rates.
- Ensure timely replenishment of best-selling items to meet customer demand.
Qualification and Skills:
- 2-5 years relevant experience in retail merchandising or buying (footwear & apparel) industry, with exposure to key markets in Asia is preferred
- In-depth knowledge of the footwear industry, including manufacturing processes and market dynamics.
- Act like an owner of the business, take full ownership for the achievement of excellent, immediate-term results.
- Familiar with retail operation and Ecommerce operation.
- Good teamwork and collaboration with cross functional teams and with all levels of employees.
- Strong at prioritizing workload and with a flexible attitude to change in priorities.
Proficient in MS Excel and BI tool.
