Team & Position

We are seeking a talented Application Support Analyst to join our dynamic Capital Market IT (CMI) department!

As Application Support Analyst, you are responsible of supporting users of Capital Market applications by responding their requests and resolving their incidents. You play a pivotal role between Business and all other IT roles on Run related topics. You must follow Capital Market IT Run processes standards and recommendations shared by Run Control Tower team and as a member of support community you will have to contribute to their improvement.

Capital Markets IT involves technology solutions and systems used in financial markets for trading, investment, and related activities. This includes electronic trading platforms, risk management systems, market risk, counterparty risk, algorithmic trading, data analytics, and Regulatory measures. The use of advanced technologies like API's, artificial intelligence and cloud solutions are also becoming increasingly prevalent in capital markets to enhance efficiency and decision-making processes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide L1/L2 application support for AWS and Big Data-based applications, monitoring health, batch jobs and data pipelines, and troubleshooting issues using logs, monitoring tools and SQL.
  • Resolve incidents swiftly, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence and proactively identifying workarounds to minimize user impact.
  • Handle user requests promptly, prioritizing by urgency and impact, escalating when necessary while remaining the primary point of contact.
  • Serve as a communication bridge between IT and business stakeholders, providing timely updates to users, senior management and IT teams throughout the incident lifecycle.
  • Develop basic Python/Shell automation, participate in testing and CI/CD activities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with development, cloud, data and business teams to resolve incidents and propose sustainable solutions for recurring issues.
  • Follow ITIL-based and CMI Run processes for incident, problem and change management, maintaining technical documentation and troubleshooting procedures.

Qualifications and Profile

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related major.

Candidates should have 1-3 years experience in relevant activities, and possess ITIL knowledge.

Technical

  • 1–2 years of experience in application support, software development, cloud operations or data-related roles
  • Good understanding of Linux/UNIX and SQL
  • Working knowledge of Python and/or Shell scripting (PowerShell a plus)
  • Hands-on exposure to AWS, particularly EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS/Aurora and CloudWatch. AWS certification is an advantage.
  • Understanding of Big Data concepts with exposure to technologies such as Spark/PySpark, Hadoop/Hive, Kafka, AWS EMR.
  • Familiarity with application monitoring and logging tools such as ELK, Grafana and Prometheus.
  • Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD tools including Git, GitLab, Jenkins and Ansible. Exposure to Confluence and Jira for collaboration and tracking.
  • Exposure to job scheduling tools such as Airflow and messaging technologies such as Kafka and MQ Series.
  • Exposure to containerization technologies such as Kubernetes / Openshift.

Functional

  • Knowledge of systems dealing with Market Risk, credit limits, VaR, Stress, P&L reporting
  • Knowledge of financial assets (FX, Structured credit, Swaps, Equities, etc.) and overall understanding of trade lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of supporting capital market applications and trading systems

Nice to Have

  • Any Object-oriented language: Java, .Net
  • Domain-Driven design and Microservices: Springboot
  • Experience with automation frameworks and libraries.

Weekly rotational shifts

Singapore time : 9am-6pm, 12pm-9pm, 4pm-1am (adjusted to DST changes)
