Junior Analyst Oilseeds Trading Desk .

The Junior Analyst supports the Oilseeds trading and merchandising team by providing data analysis, market intelligence, and operational support across related products. The role is a development position designed to build commercial acumen, analytical rigor, and market understanding under the direction of senior traders, merchandisers, and analysts.

Key Responsibilities

. Market Analysis & Research

. Track and report on global oilseed supply and demand fundamentals (margins, planting/harvest progress, weather, export pace, stocks-to-use)

. Monitor futures (MDEX, DCE, CBOT), basis levels, spreads, and economics

. Compile daily and weekly market summaries highlighting price drivers, flat price moves, and relevant news

. Maintain and update fundamental balance sheets and S&D models for assigned regions/products

Data & Reporting

. Build and maintain spreadsheets, dashboards, and databases tracking positions, P&L, and market data

. Aggregate data from sources such as USDA, CONAB, Oil World, customs/export data, and internal systems

. Support position reporting, mark-to-market, and exposure tracking for the desk

Trading & Operational Support

. Assist traders/merchandisers with trade idea generation, hedging analysis, and scenario modeling

. Help reconcile contracts, track logistics/execution status, and liaise with operations, risk, and finance teams

. Support pricing of physical cargoes and basis trades

Cross-Functional Collaboration

. Coordinate with origination, freight, risk, and structured products teams

. Communicate findings clearly to senior commercial staff

Qualifications

. Bachelor's degree in agricultural economics, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, or related field

. 0–2 years experience; internships in commodities, ag, or finance preferred

. Strong Excel skills; familiarity with Python/SQL/Power BI and Bloomberg/Refinitiv a plus

. Solid grasp of commodity markets, futures, and derivatives fundamentals

. Strong analytical, quantitative, and communication skills; high attention to detail

. Ability to work under time pressure in a fast-moving trading environment
