Junior Accountants are responsible for assisting in managing, processing and troubleshooting various accounts and transactions.
They support the financial department by performing day-to-day tasks that add up to accurate financial statements.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Assisting in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance.
- Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes.
- Maintaining and creating organized and up-to-date financial records.
- Assisting with tax audits and tax returns.
- Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Working with bookkeeping software, online spreadsheets, and databases.
- Utilizing database software to organize financial account information.
- Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
- Learning how to work as part of the admin team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company or clients.
- Processing and preparing invoices, and following up on late payments.
- Assisting with other accounting matter, as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a junior accountant.
- Great organizing abilities.
- Great attention to detail.
- Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen.
- Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g. Infotech Accounting Software).
- Qualifications (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) is a plus but not required.
