We are seeking a dedicated Junior Sous Chef to support our kitchen leadership team. This role is ideal for a talented chef ready to step into a supervisory position, bridging the gap between the line staff and senior management.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations.
- Lead and supervise specific kitchen sections during service.
- Ensure high standards of food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Train, mentor, and support commis and demi chefs.
- Oversee mise en place, portion control, and consistency across all dishes.
- Monitor kitchen hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards.
- Assist with menu planning, new dish development, and seasonal specials.
- Manage stock control, assist in ordering, and reduce wastage.
- Step in to cover the Sous Chef's duties in their absence.
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of professional kitchen experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of European and modern fusion cuisine.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide the team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be Singaporean, PR, or LTVP holder.
