Job Description
Vocational Instruction & Coaching
- Providing individualized support and supervision to trainees with moderate autism in baking-related activities.
- Planning and execute daily training and work schedules, adapting activities as needed to support trainee learning and engagement.
- Working alongside trainees to produce baked goods, ensuring adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Supporting trainees in developing vocational skills such as following recipes, portioning, handling baking tools and equipment, and maintaining cleanliness in the work area.
Case Management & Documentation
- Monitoring and evaluating trainee progress, documenting these observations, and communicating them to internal stakeholders and external vendors
Collaborative Partnerships
- Collaborating with partner vendors, baking professionals, and internal SAAC teams to implement a structured training curriculum
- Promoting a safe, inclusive, and empowering training environment
Job Requirement
- A recognized diploma, preferably in education, psychology, social services, or a related field
- Certification in job coaching, baking instruction, or special needs education is advantageous
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities, ideally in a vocational or educational setting
- Basic baking knowledge or hands-on experience in a baking or food preparation environment is highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instruction and positive reinforcement
- Ability to tailor coaching strategies to the individual learning needs of trainees
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting individuals with autism toward greater independence
