Jasper Developer (Banking Domain), East side - Contract

This role is for a JasperReports Developer responsible for the design, development, administration, and support of an enterprise JasperReports reporting platform.

KEY FEATURES OF THE POSITION

• Develop, maintain, and support enterprise reports using JasperReports technologies
• Work on the end-to-end report lifecycle including design, development, deployment, and support
• Support JasperReports Server administration across development and production environments
• Deliver stable, performant, and secure reporting solutions aligned to business requirements
• Collaborate with application, database, and infrastructure teams to resolve reporting issues
• Adhere to platform standards, governance, and compliance requirements
• Participate in change management, testing, and deployment activities
• Communicate effectively with business users, support teams, and technical stakeholders

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

Professional

• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in enterprise reporting and BI development, preferably with JasperReports
• Strong analytical skills to understand business reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Experience supporting production systems with stability, performance, and availability requirements
• Ability to manage multiple development and support tasks concurrently
• Clear communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments (Scrum / SAFedesirable)
• Experience in banking, financial services, or regulated environments is an advantage

Technical

• Strong hands-on experience with JasperReports Studio for designing, developing, and maintaining complex enterprise reports.
• Proficiency in JRXML, expressions, parameters, variables, conditional logic, and layout configuration.
• Experience building drill-down and drill-through reports for summary-to-detail analysis.
• Ability to develop scalable solutions using subreports, datasets, and reusable report templates.
• Strong SQL skills for report querying, including query optimization and handling large data volumes.
• Expertise in JasperReports Server administration, including deployment of reports, dashboards, domains, input controls, and data sources.
• Experience configuring and supporting report scheduling, background jobs, and delivery mechanisms.
• Hands-on experience with production support, including troubleshooting execution failures, performance issues, timeouts, and scheduling problems.
• Ability to perform log analysis and root cause investigation for JasperReports Server issues.
• Experience in domain design and maintenance using both UI-based and XML-based approaches.
• Strong understanding of meta data management, including domains, data sources, adapters, and input controls.
• Experience implementing security configurations, including role-based access control and row-level data security via domains and security XML files.
• Knowledge of report output storage, archival, and retention management, including performance and compliance considerations.
• Experience performing impact analysis and change management to ensure changes do not break dependent reports, dashboards, or schedules.
