We are partnering with a leading energy trading firm seeking a Japan Power Originatorto support the continued growth of its APAC power business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing structured power transactions, building relationships with utilities, generators, retailers and other market participants, and identifying new commercial opportunities across the Japanese power market.

Japan Power Originator responsibilities;

• Originate physical and structured power transactions across Japan.
• Develop relationships with utilities, IPPs, retailers, renewable developers and large energy consumers.
• Structure and negotiate PPAs, supply agreements and other bespoke energy transactions.
• Work closely with trading and analytics teams to identify market opportunities and manage risk.
• Expand the firm's presence and counterparty network across JEPX and the broader Japanese power market.

Japan Power Originator experience;

• Strong experience within Japanese power or energy markets.
• Established network of Japanese power-market counterparties.
• Experience in power origination, trading, structuring or business development.
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
• Japanese fluency strongly preferred.
