About the Role
The Japan & Korea Lead will be responsible for driving business development and expanding our market presence across Japan and Korea. You will focus on building strategic relationships and acquiring clients within the Gaming, Anime, Film/Television, and IP (Intellectual Property) sectors. This role requires navigating localized business landscapes, managing channel partnerships, and addressing complex IP communications with local stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead business development (BD) initiatives in Japan and Korea, targeting and closing accounts in the Gaming, Anime, Film/TV, and IP-holder sectors.
- Establish and manage relationships with local channels, distributors, and advertising agencies to accelerate market penetration.
- Localize sales and marketing materials, ensuring all collateral aligns with regional cultural preferences and business etiquette.
- Act as the primary point of contact for complex regional communications, particularly regarding IP licensing, compliance, and partnership terms.
- Deliver tailored product presentations to key local stakeholders, demonstrating the value of our video AI solutions in their production workflows.
Qualifications
- 5–8 years of business development or sales experience directly targeting the Japanese and/or Korean markets.
- Local or native fluency in Japanese and/or Korean, with professional proficiency in English or Mandarin for internal collaboration.
- Deep understanding of regional business culture, corporate procurement processes, and relationship-driven sales cycles in East Asia.
Required Skills
- Regional BD & Sales Execution: Proven track record of pipeline generation and deal closure in Japan or Korea.
- Localization Capabilities: Ability to craft, translate, or refine local-language commercial materials to high professional standards.
- IP Coordination: Hands-on experience or high comfort level handling intellectual property, licensing, or content compliance discussions.
- Cross-Cultural Negotiation: Exceptional communication skills tailored to Japanese/Korean corporate hierarchies and decision-making structures.
Preferred Skills
- Existing networks, active client relationships, or agency resources within the Gaming, Anime, Film/TV, or Digital Advertising industries in Japan and Korea.
- Experience in SaaS, Cloud Services, or Generative AI sales.
Pay Range and Compensation Package
Competitive base salary with an aggressive commission structure based on experience and sales qualifications.
