About the Role:
We are looking for a hands-on and motivated IT Systems & Infrastructure Engineer to join our MIS team in Singapore. This is a broad infrastructure role covering Microsoft365, identity and access management, endpoint security, servers, backup and recovery, SaaS platforms, networking, hardware and data-centre operations.
You will work closely with our existing Network & Hardware Engineer and the MIS Manager, supporting CADIT users and systems globally. The role is designed for someone who wants to build a strong career in IT infrastructure and systems administration.
We are looking for someone who is curious, methodical, hands-on, willing to learn and genuinely interested in infrastructure. Training and certification support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
Microsoft 365 & Identity Administration
- Administer Microsoft 365 users, licences, groups, shared mailboxes and permissions.
- Support Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive and Microsoft Teams.
- Manage user joiner, mover and leaver processes.
- Support Microsoft Entra ID, MFA, account access and password/lockout issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of tenant and access changes.
Endpoint & IT Support
- Build, configure, deploy and maintain Windows PCs and laptops.
- Install and maintain operating systems, applications, drivers, firmware and licensed software.
- Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, operating system, connectivity, printing and access issues.
- Maintain endpoint protection and security coverage using Bitdefender GravityZone.
- Monitor and respond to endpoint security alerts and escalate potential incidents appropriately.
Systems & Infrastructure Operations
- Support the company's office server room and co-located data-centre rack.
- Assist with server installation, configuration, firmware, RAID, operating systems and monitoring.
- Perform hardware replacement including disks, power supplies, memory and fans.
- Maintain rack equipment, cabling, labelling, UPS systems and physical infrastructure.
- Coordinate data-centre access, remote hands and scheduled maintenance activities.
- Maintain proper change records and infrastructure documentation.
Network &Infrastructure Support
- Work alongside the Network & Hardware Engineer to learn and support:
- Handle routine network troubleshooting and changes under appropriate supervision.
- Progressively develop the capability to provide infrastructure cover when the incumbent engineer is unavailable.
- Support networking requirements for CAD-IT's IoT and project deployments where required.
Backup, Patching & Monitoring
- Monitor backup jobs and investigate failures.
- Perform and document periodic restore tests.
- Support operating system and firmware patching activities.
- Monitor infrastructure alerts and system health.
- Maintain records for backup, recovery and business continuity procedures.
SaaS & Platform Administration
- Administer CAD-IT's internal monday.com account, including users, licenses, permissions, workspaces and boards.
- Support administration of other business SaaS platforms managed by MIS.
- Maintain accurate user access and license records.
- Identify opportunities to improve platform governance and operational efficiency.
Documentation & Asset Management
- Maintain hardware and software asset registers.
- Track licenses, warranties and equipment ownership.
- Maintain network diagrams, rack layouts, cable schedules and technical documentation.
- Create and maintain practical runbooks and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure infrastructure changes are properly documented.
Global IT Support
- Provide remote IT support to CAD-IT users and offices outside Singapore.
- Communicate clearly with users across different time zones.
- Explain technical issues in simple, non-technical language.
- Maintain clear ticket updates and follow through until issues are resolved.
Continuous Learning & Development
- Develop your skills across systems administration, networking, infrastructure and security.
- Complete relevant training and certifications supported by the company.
- Work towards Microsoft, CompTIA and other relevant infrastructure certifications.
- Develop sufficient cross-functional knowledge to provide infrastructure coverage and support.
Requirements:
Must Have
- Post-secondary qualifications in IT, Information Technology, Infocom Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics or a related discipline.
- Candidates with ITE Higher Nitec, Polytechnic Diploma or Degree are welcome to apply.
- Relevant hands-on experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications.
- Basic working knowledge of Windows operating systems and an understanding of Windows Server.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts including:
- IP addressing and subnets
- Comfortable working with physical IT hardware, including PCs, servers, cabling and rack equipment.
- Able to follow technical procedures carefully and document work performed.
- Good spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate with users across different countries.
- Strong attention to detail and a responsible approach to IT security and access management.
- Willingness to participate in an emergency contact/on-call roster and occasional planned evening or weekend maintenance activities.
- Genuine interest in IT infrastructure and systems administration.
Exposure to any of the following would be advantageous:
- Microsoft 365 administration
- Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD
- Microsoft Intune
- Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive or Teams
- Endpoint security platforms such as Bitdefender, Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike or Sophos
- Business SaaS administration such as monday.com, Google Workspace or Atlassian
- Firewalls such as WatchGuard, Fortinet, Sophos or pfSense
- Managed switches and wireless networking
- VMware, Hyper-V or Proxmox
- Veeam or other backup platforms
- PowerShell or basic scripting
- ITSM / ticketing systems
- Structured cabling, server racks, UPS or data-centre operations
- Industrial, edge or IoT networking
- CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA or Microsoft certifications, including certifications currently in progress.
