1. Process Engineering & Governance
- Design, implement, and continuously improve software operations processes and governance frameworks.
- Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for deployment, incident management, and system maintenance.
- Ensure alignment with ITIL/DevOps best practices and organizational policies.
- Drive automation and process optimization to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk.
2. Budgetary Control & Financial Optimization
- Manage and optimize the IT software operations budget, including licensing, infrastructure, and tools.
- Monitor spend and identify cost-saving opportunities (e.g., rightsizing, usage optimization).
- Partner with finance teams for forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Ensure cost transparency and accountability across software operations.
3. Strategic Negotiations & Vendor Management
- Lead vendor selection, evaluation, and contract negotiations for software and services.
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure service quality, SLA adherence, and value delivery.
- Drive contract optimization, renewals, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with vendors on performance improvements and innovation opportunities.
4. Procurement Approval & Executive Communication
- Oversee procurement processes, ensuring proper approvals and alignment with business priorities.
- Prepare and present business cases, cost justifications, and investment proposals to leadership.
- Provide regular updates to executives on operational performance, risks, and financials.
- Act as a key liaison between IT, finance, procurement, and senior stakeholders.
5. License Operations & Compliance
- Manage software license lifecycle, including procurement, allocation, tracking, and renewal.
- Ensure compliance with licensing agreements, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
- Conduct periodic license audits and risk assessments.
- Optimize license usage to avoid over-provisioning or non-compliance penalties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5-8+ years of experience in IT operations, software asset management, or vendor management.
- Strong knowledge of software licensing models, procurement processes, and financial management.
- Experience with governance frameworks (ITIL, COBIT) and compliance standards.
