Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated Server Support Engineer (Entry Level) to join our infrastructure team. This role is ideal for fresh graduates who are passionate about servers, hosting infrastructure, and data center operations. You will gain hands-on experience working with server deployment, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting data center operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Support
- Provide first-level technical support for hosting and server-related issues.
- Assist customers in troubleshooting server access, connectivity, and system-related issues.
- Monitor and manage support tickets to ensure timely updates and resolution.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers or data center partners when necessary.
2. Server Administration
- Assist with server deployment, OS installation, and basic configuration (Linux / Windows).
- Perform routine server checks including system health monitoring and updates.
- Support backup verification and basic system maintenance tasks.
- Maintain server inventory and infrastructure documentation.
3. Data Center Operations
- Assist with rack installation, server mounting, and network cabling.
- Provide remote hands and eyes support for customers and engineers.
- Ensure proper cable management and maintain a clean data center environment.
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain technical logs, maintenance records, and support documentation.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOP) and internal technical guidelines.
Requirements
- Diploma or ITE qualification in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Basic knowledge of Linux, Windows Server, and server hardware is an advantage.
- Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT or similar tools) for technical research, troubleshooting, and documentation is an advantage.
- Strong interest in servers, hosting infrastructure, and data center technologies.
- Willing to learn and work in a fast-paced technical environment.
- Able to participate in standby duty rotation, including nights, weekends, and public holidays when required.
- Willing to travel within Singapore or overseas for deployment or support assignments when required.
- Good communication skills in English ability to communicate in Chinese is an advantage to support Chinese-speaking customers.
