Job Summary

The IT Security Specialist Incident Management leads the response to security incidents, managing detection to resolution and conducting post-incident analysis to strengthen defenses and protect organizational information assets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the detection, analysis, and resolution of IT security incidents to minimize impact on organizational assets
  • Monitor security environments continuously to identify and assess emerging cyber threats and vulnerabilities
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to implement effective incident response strategies and remedial actions
  • Conduct thorough post-incident investigations to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures
  • Develop and maintain incident management documentation and reporting to support organizational security posture
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance security controls and ensure compliance with relevant policies and standards

You should possess the following:

  • Degree in Computer Science or related experience
  • Professional Certifications such as CSA, ComTIA Security+, GIAC GSEC, GCIH or other comparable Degree or Tertiary Certificates
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.-Ability to translate technical issues into clear customer-facing narratives.
  • Experience managing customer expectations during service-impacting events.
  • Confident engagement with senior customer stakeholders and internal leadership.
  • Ability to lead without authority across multiple technical and vendor teams.
  • Excellent judgement, prioritization, and decision-making under pressure.
  • Solid grasp of cybersecurity concepts, including threats identification, risk assessment and incident management.
  • May be required to perform rotating on-call duty
