IT Security Officer

Our client is seeking an experienced IT Security Officer to support the security and resilience of mission-critical IT and Operational Technology (OT) systems.

This role is ideal for cybersecurity professionals with experience in OT environments, critical infrastructure, or industrial control systems who are passionate about protecting essential operational services.

Key Responsibilities

• Secure and maintain IT and OT infrastructure supporting critical operational systems.
• Maintain an inventory of OT assets and document network architecture.
• Monitor security events using SIEM and other cybersecurity tools.
• Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, security audits and coordinate remediation activities.
• Manage security patching while ensuring minimal impact to business operations.
• Perform cybersecurity risk assessments and ensure compliance with relevant security standards and policies.
• Assess security risks associated with third-party vendors and technology solutions.
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
• Promote cybersecurity awareness through user training and best practices.

Requirements

• Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in IT or OT cybersecurity.
• Experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint security and vulnerability management.
• Good knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, IEC 62443 or similar.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience securing OT, ICS or SCADA environments.
• Experience working in critical infrastructure or 24/7 operational environments.
• Knowledge of cloud security (AWS or Azure).
• Familiarity with environmental monitoring or industrial systems is an advantage.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, GICSP or equivalent are preferred.
