Position Overview
The Co-operative is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the delivery of its banking systems. The role involves managing end-to-end IT projects within a regulated environment, ensuring systems are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with security and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage full project lifecycle for banking system initiatives (core banking, digital banking, payments, AML, risk, or related systems)
- Define project scope, objectives, timelines, budget, and resource plans
- Manage users expectations by clearly defining project scope, timelines, deliverables, and constraints
- Act as the primary liaison between users, vendors, and external partners to ensure alignment of expectations and objectives
- Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and achievable project plans
- Proactively communicate project progress, risks, changes, and impacts to users
- Control scope changes and ensure proper change management and user sign-off
- Manage system integration, upgrades, migrations, and implementation activities
- Ensure compliance with regulations, security policies, and audit requirements
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues
- Manage vendor performance, contracts, and deliverables
- Provide regular project status updates to Management and Board
- Ensure proper documentation, UAT, training, and handover to operations
Requirements
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
- Possesses strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies and/or certification in IT domains such as in computing, coding or data-related fields, experience with emerging technologies (e.g. Artificial Intelligence, Large Language Models, or Robotic-Process Automation).
- Possesses knowledge and certification in Project Management-related domains (e.g. Project Management Institute).
Experience
- Atleast 5 years within IT domain, with experience in leading or major involvement in project management of at least 2 full system development Lifecycle including systems support.
- Prior working experience in financial institution, government sector would be preferred.
- Prior working experience with Government procurement processes and IT system projects will be preferred
- Experience working with vendors and system integrators

This is a 3-year contract post. To be able to start work by 2 March 2026.
