We are seeking an IT Operations Specialist to support and manage 24x7 Data Centre operations, ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of IT infrastructure, business applications, and data centre facilities. The candidate will be responsible for operational monitoring, incident support, batch processing, backup management, and disaster recovery activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support Data Centre operations on a 24x7 shift basis.
- Monitor server, system, and application health to ensure service availability.
- Perform Level 1 troubleshooting, incident recovery, and operational support.
- Execute and monitor batch jobs, production deployments, and job scheduling activities.
- Manage backup operations, monitoring, and recovery support.
- Support Disaster Recovery (DR) activities and simulation exercises.
- Escort and manage Data Centre visitors and vendors in compliance with security procedures.
- Ensure all IT operational issues are properly documented and reported.
- Monitor IT service performance, system availability, and infrastructure operations.
- Assist in resolving incidents related to hardware, operating systems, applications, and data centre facilities.
- Ensure security, safety, and compliance within the Data Centre environment.
- Coordinate with service vendors to ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and operational enhancement projects.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in Data Centre Operations, IT Operations, or Critical Services support.
- Knowledge of batch processing, backup operations, production deployment, and monitoring tools.
- Understanding of incident management and operational support processes.
- Familiarity with Data Centre security, workplace safety, and operational procedures.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to handle operational issues, escalations, and user enquiries professionally.
- ITIL certification or understanding of ITIL framework and best practices is preferred.
- Minimum NITEC / Higher NITEC qualification or equivalent.
- Willingness to work 24x7 rotational shifts in a Data Centre environment.
- Ability to support additional operational duties and special projects when required.
Shift Timing
- Day Shift: 8:45 AM to 8:45 PM
- Night Shift: 8:45 PM to 8:45 AM
