IT Operations Engineer (Cloud Infra Support)

Position Overview

We are representing our client seeking a skilled IT operations individual to manage and maintain the technology infrastructure. This role combines cloud system management with on-premise IT support, working closely with internal teams and external IT partners to ensure reliable, well maintained and secure operations.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure Management

. Administer and maintain cloud-based systems hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS)

. Monitor cloud performance, security, and resource utilization

. Implement backup and disaster recovery procedures for cloud assets

. Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost-efficiency and performance

. Manage user access, permissions, and security protocols in AWS environments

On-Premise IT Collaboration

. Coordinate with IT partners to support and maintain on-premise infrastructure

. Act as primary point of contact between the organization and external IT service providers

. Ensure seamless integration between cloud and on-premise systems

. Oversee service level agreements and vendor performance

General IT Administration

. Provide technical support to end-users across the organization

. Manage user accounts, access rights, and system permissions

. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues

. Maintain documentation of IT systems, procedures, and configurations

. Implement and enforce IT security policies and best practices

. Manage software licensing and hardware inventory

. Coordinate system updates, patches, and maintenance windows

Required Qualifications

. Proven experience as an IT Ops or similar role

. Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services and administration

. Experience working with external IT vendors and service providers

. Understanding of network infrastructure, security protocols, and system administration

. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

. Strong communication skills for liaising with technical and non-technical stakeholders

. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

. AWS certification (Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or similar)

. Experience with Microsoft Server, SQL server, .net environments.

. Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)

. Familiarization with tools such as CyberArk and SolarWinds and other PAM system monitoring tools.

. Familiarity with backup solutions (Veeam, Veritas NetBackup, Acronis) and their reporting/alerting capabilities.

. Familiarization of security protocols, screening tools and performing penetration testing.

. Knowledge of hybrid cloud environments.

. ITIL or similar IT service management framework experience for mission critical, enterprise software systems, SaaS.

. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
