Job Description

The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's technology landscape, ensuring that IT systems, infrastructure, and applications are aligned with business objectives. This role leads a team of IT professionals and serves as the primary point of accountability for technology strategy, operations, security, and governance. The IT Manager collaborates closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to drive adoption and upgrades of IT systems, support digital transformation initiatives, maintain operational excellence, and safeguard the organization's data and systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. IT Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy that aligns with the organization's overall business goals and long-term vision.
  • Conduct regular technology assessments to identify opportunities for innovation, cost optimization, and process improvement.
  • Define and manage the annual IT budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across infrastructure, software, and staffing.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership on technology investments, emerging trends, and system refresh/upgrade initiatives.
  • Establish IT roadmaps for system upgrades, platform migrations, and capability development.

2. Application Management

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of business applications, including evaluation, procurement, implementation, and decommissioning.
  • Manage relationships with software vendors and ensure SLAs are met for critical business systems.
  • Coordinate with business units to gather requirements, prioritize enhancements, and deliver application improvements.
  • Ensure applications are kept up to date with patches, version upgrades, and security fixes in accordance with change management policies.
  • Drive adoption of enterprise applications by facilitating training and change management activities.

3. IT Infrastructure and EUC Operations

  • Manage and maintain all IT infrastructure components including servers, networks, storage, cloud environments, and server room.
  • Oversee End-User Computing (EUC) services, including hardware provisioning, device management, and helpdesk support functions.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of IT systems, with proactive monitoring and incident response protocols.
  • Plan and manage IT disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BC) strategies, conducting regular testing and reviews.
  • Evaluate and implement cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions to enhance scalability and operational efficiency.

4. Cybersecurity and Data Protection

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a robust cyber security framework to protect organizational data, systems, and networks.
  • Conduct and oversee regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits.
  • Define and enforce data protection policies in compliance with applicable regulations (e.g. PDPA or industry-specific requirements).
  • Lead incident response efforts, including detection, containment, recovery, and post-incident analysis.
  • Promote a culture of cybersecurity awareness through organization-wide training and communication programs.

5. IT Governance and Compliance

  • Establish and maintain IT governance frameworks, policies, and standards aligned with industry best practices (e.g., ITIL, ISO27001).
  • Ensure IT operations and processes comply with all relevant regulatory, legal, and contractual obligations.
  • Maintain IT documentation, including policies, procedures, system architecture diagrams, and asset inventories.
  • Prepare and present IT performance reports, risk assessments, and compliance status updates to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage internal and external IT audits, coordinating responses to findings and implementing remediation actions.

6. Project & Vendor Management

  • Lead and manage IT projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and on-scope execution.
  • Apply project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) appropriate to project scope and complexity.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with IT vendors, managed service providers, and technology partners.
  • Negotiate contracts, service agreements, and renewals to ensure cost-effectiveness and alignment with organizational needs.
  • Monitor vendor performance against agreed KPIs and SLAs, escalating issues as necessary to ensure accountability.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, and end-user computing environments.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex IT projects and managing technology vendors.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of networking, server administration, cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure), and virtualization technologies (Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with Navision, Business Central, InfoTech and Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles, data protection frameworks, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with ITSM tools and IT governance frameworks(ITIL, ISO 27001).

Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities with the ability to develop and motivate teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to risk and issue management.
