The IT & Facilities Officer will be responsible for the daily technology needs of the office and oversee the smooth operation of workplace facilities. This role combines hands-on IT support with responsibility for maintaining a safe and well-functioning office environment.
Key Responsibilities
IT Support
- Support IT infrastructure across hardware, software, and network.
- Install, configure, and maintain computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and other devices.
- Provide technical support for IT issues, managing requests from start to resolution.
- Monitor network connectivity and coordinate with vendors if issues arise.
- Coordinate with vendors for IT equipment repairs and procurement.
- Maintain an inventory of IT equipment and assets.
Facilities Management
- Coordinate and inspect maintenance of office facilities including ventilation and air-conditioning, electrical systems, plumbing, and fire safety.
- Manage and supervise janitorial staff, technicians, security personnel, and other contractors.
- Ensure workplace safety procedures are followed and that the office complies with building regulations.
- Coordinate office renovations, space layouts, and installation of equipment or fixtures when required.
Skills and Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- At least 5 years of relevant in-house IT operations experience.
- Experience in facilities management.
- Strong problem-solving ability and able to handle urgent issues calmly.
- Clear communication skills and comfortable coordinating with staff, vendors, and contractors.
- Highly organized, reliable, and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Job Timings (Non-negotiable)
- 44 Hours Per Week
- On-site (no remote working)
- Monday - Thursday: 11:30 am - 07:30 pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 09:30 am - 06:30 pm
- Lunch Break: 01:30 pm - 02:30 pm
Overtime
Employees who work more than the stipulated working hours on any day will be paid for any additional hour worked at 1.5 times their hourly basic rate of pay.
Public Holidays
- The Centre will remain closed on all public holidays EXCEPT Labour Day and Vesak Day. The board examinations are held in May/June and we are duty bound to our students to remain open on these two public holidays to assist them in their final examination preparation.
- Employees who work on Public Holidays (9:30AM - 6:30PM) will receive twice their basic rate of pay for work on that day.
Leave Policy
- Annual leave : 18 days
- Birthday Leave: 1 day
- Family Care Leave : 2 days (the above unused leave will be encashed at the end of the year)
- Medical leave: 14 days
- Hospitalisation Leave : 60 days (includes 14 days of medical leave) Unused leaves will lapsed at the end of the year
- Maternity leave :16 weeks (For Singapore Citizens) 8 weeks (For others)
- Paternity leave :2 weeks (If employee has worked for 3 continuous months and child is a Singapore Citizen) For Others, as per mutual agreement between employee and employer.
- Childcare Leave :6 days (if child is less than 7 years, and a Singapore Citizen) 2 days (if child is less than 7 years, for others, as per Employment Act)
- Compassionate Leave: 3 days (can be availed only once in a year)
Insurance
- General Physician (GP) : No Co-Pay (Panel Clinic)
- Specialist (SPL) : $2000 per calendar year (No Panel)
- Hospitalisation (Hosp) : $60000 Annual (Govt Restr, 4 bedded Ward)
- Dental Plan (DP) : $1000 per calendar year, 10% Co-Pay (No Panel)
