IT Engineer (Data Services)

Responsibilities, but not limited to

• Install, upgrade database systems, apply patches and implement changes when required.

• Diagnose and resolve database errors ensuring high availability of database systems.

• Manage databases access, backups and ensure compliance with database and security standards.

• Perform changes to critical databases related to manufacturing and engineering.

• Support incident, request, change, and problem management tasks associated with database operations.

• Ensure SLA for incidents and service requests are met with high quality of work.

• Provide oncall support, including outside of office hours.

• Ensure critical metrics, such as breach case target, MTTR and first level resolution target are met.

• Perform business continuity planning and capacity forecast for database systems

• Collaborate with site customers on new database requirements, problem resolution and data flow requests.

• Performance tuning of databases to ensure high performance and availability.

• Monitor database performance proactively and perform analysis of cases to prevent recurring issues.

• Review and enhance database monitoring when required.

• Develop processes and operation procedures related to database operations.

• Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.

• Engineer solutions and automations to improve productivity and efficiency of database operations and reliability and availability of the database systems.

• Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.

• Participate in worldwide collaboration for technical sharing and reference architecture alignment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics/Computer/Software Engineering, Information Systems or related fields, or equivalent experience.

• Candidates with minimum 4 years of relevant working experience may be considered for a senior position.

• Good understanding and hands-on experience in the following areas will be advantageous: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Databases, Linux and Windows operation systems. Programming and scripting languages such as Java, PowerShell and Python.

• Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools

• Effective oral and written communication with strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
