Aurex Group is exclusively working with a Singapore headquartered cross commodities trading company to find a mid-senior level Operator for their iron ore operations desk.
Our client is a well- known name in the bulks space and is looking for an Operator with operations experience at a trading house and with iron ore, coal or dry bulk operations background. This role is highly operational in nature. This person is responsible for day to day communications and operations related matters with Traders.
Responsibilities:
- Process shipping documents and negotiate terms of charter party, commercial rates for demurrage as well as laytime calculations
- Ensure a high level of service being delivered to the commercial teams.
- Assist traders in coordinating discussions and negotiations with prospective vendors or sales & purchasers
- Ensure the timely administration of all documents for prompt delivery and smooth clearance of all goods in accordance with the terms of the contract.
- Prepare and organize all relevant documents such as L/C, LOI, payment advice, nomination of vessels, etc
- Coordinate with buyers to ensure smooth execution of commercial terms, accurate filing of documentations, timely correspondence of quotes and confirmation
- Monitor utilisation of Bank Trade Limit, accuracy of rates and fees charged
Requirements
- University degree, preference in (business) management, supply chain (operations) or economics
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in an international company
- Solid understanding of commodity markets with specific knowledge of dry bulk
- Ability and desire to work with as well as have an awareness of different cultures, personalities and working styles
- Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook
- Knowledge and experience of trading industry.
- Understand international trade practices and regulations.
- Understand shipping terms, letter of credits(L/C) and general trade terms.
