We are seeking an Intermediate Investment Research Analyst to join the investment team. The successful candidate will conduct independent equity research, build financial models, and contribute actionable investment ideas across our coverage universe. This is a high-quality research role for an analyst who is intellectually curious, rigorous in valuation, and serious about compounding capital over the long term.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Equity Research: Conduct deep-dive, bottom-up fundamental analysis on listed companies across six coverage markets (CH/LI, EU, SG, AU, CA), spanning a broad range of industries and market capitalisations
- Financial Modelling: Build and maintain detailed financial models (DCF, dividend discount, sum-of-parts, EV/earnings multiples) scenario-test assumptions on revenue growth, margins, capex, and capital allocation
- Valuation & Investment Memos: Produce well-reasoned investment theses supported by quantitative analysis assess intrinsic value vs. market price and articulate a clear margin of safety
- Idea Generation: Proactively screen and surface investment opportunities - both long ideas and potential shorts - using quantitative screens, industry research, and network-based sourcing
- Company & Industry Monitoring: Track portfolio holdings and coverage universe read earnings releases, annual reports, and regulatory filings across multiple geographies and languages where applicable
- Macro & Market Awareness: Maintain awareness of macro developments, currency dynamics, and regulatory changes across covered markets that could affect portfolio companies
- Investment Committee Support: Present research and investment recommendations to the Portfolio Manager / CIO prepare and update materials for investment committee reviews
Day-to-Day Activities
- Reading earnings releases, annual reports, and broker research across the coverage universe
- Updating financial models for new data points and revising forward estimates
- Screening for new ideas using Bloomberg, FactSet, or equivalent tools
- Drafting and refining investment memos and valuation updates
- Contributing to weekly investment team discussions and portfolio reviews
- Monitoring regulatory and corporate governance developments in covered markets
Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related quantitative discipline
- CFA Level II or III preferred, or actively pursuing the CFA designation
- 3-5 years experience in equity research (sell-side or buy-side), fund management, or investment banking with a strong analytical track record
- Demonstrable experience applying fundamental valuation techniques (DCF, NAV, comparable companies, precedent transactions)
- Advanced financial modelling in Excel able to build models from scratch and interrogate third-party models critically
- Strong written English - able to produce clear, well-structured investment memos that articulate a thesis, key risks, and valuation
Desirable Skills & Knowledge
- Familiarity with at least two of the covered markets: Swiss/European listed equities, Singapore-listed companies (SGX), ASX-listed equities, or TSX/TSX-V Canadian equities
- Reading proficiency in German or French advantageous for Swiss/EU coverage
- Bloomberg terminal proficiency experience with screening tools (FactSet, Capital IQ, or Refinitiv)
- Python or SQL for data aggregation and quantitative screening
- Exposure to small- and mid-cap equities, which often require deeper primary research
- Understanding of cross-currency and multi-jurisdictional accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP, local GAAP)
