An established investor in the clean energy space is growing its regional investment team and hiring an Investment Manager to lead acquisitions across utility-scale solar and battery storage in Asia. It's a deal-facing role with real ownership that you'll run transactions end to end, from first look to close, and stay involved as acquired assets and platforms are integrated.
Responsibilities:
- Build and manage a pipeline of solar and storage investment opportunities across the region
- Take deals through the full cycle - indicative offers, binding bids and financial close
- Run the due diligence process, coordinating external legal, technical, financial and tax advisors
- Structure acquisitions to fit each situation - asset versus share deals, earn-outs, majority or minority positions, JVs
- Build and refine valuation and project finance models (DCF, LBO), and pressure-test returns against regulatory, tariff, curtailment and FX risk
- Prepare and present investment memos through the approval process
- Negotiate SPAs, SHAs and disclosure schedules with legal counsel, and review key project contracts to assess risk
- Work with asset management and operations to integrate acquired assets
Requirements:
- Degree in finance, economics, accounting or engineering with a strong quantitative bent
- CFA or an MBA from a leading institution is an advantage
- At least 6-10 years across infrastructure M&A, private equity or corporate development, with closed renewable energy transactions
- Strong command of SPAs, SHAs and project loan documentation, plus solid corporate finance, tax and IFRS grounding
- The instinct to challenge seller assumptions and run multiple advisor streams to tight deadlines
