Role Summary

As a renewable energy Investment Manager, you will be involved in deal origination, transaction management, deal structuring, business and financial diligence, arranging debt and equity financing and market analysis. You will be expected to work as a member of a highly effective headquarter bases investment development team that is responsible for closing transactions, helping manage the reporting of the acquired company and potentially sell-down of projects and companies in the renewable energy sector.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Assist in the origination of a pipeline of renewable energy projects and screen investment opportunities
  • Maintain up to date understanding of our markets – India, Southeast-Asia, Japan onshore renewables market, including for instance trends, market participants, precedent transactions, and opportunities and support review of strategy to fit environment
  • Lead analysis on opening up new markets for BLEA in East Asia and SE Asia
  • Support necessary due diligence, financial modeling, risk analysis and mitigation in the structuring of complex acquisitions, developments and/or project financing transactions
  • Participate in and/or support commercial, legal and financial aspects of deal structuring
  • Commercial review and negotiation of term sheets and contracts, including acquisitions agreements, shareholder agreements, joint development partnerships, MoUs. Also assist in commercial review of power purchase agreements (PPAs), leases, EPC contract and O&M agreements.
  • Prepare internal approval papers including analysis and assessment of relevant opportunities to facilitate the Investment Director, Development Director and Blueleaf Energy leadership team to make investment decisions
  • Prepare project teaser or information memoranda for debt and equity investors, including responding to potential investor and financier's commercial and technical due diligence
  • Support presentation of deal pipeline and transaction details to the Blueleaf Energy leadership team and Board for review and approval
  • With the support of internal and external counsel, ensure that appropriate legal documentation is successfully concluded in line with approvals and that financial close (i.e. first disbursement) is achieved in a timely fashion
  • Complete regular reporting activities for internal progress management purposes as well as updating Blueleaf Energy leadership on the ongoing deals pipeline and expected timeframes of reaching key milestones
  • Develop and leverage a network of professional relationships including key external stakeholders (e.g. financial, legal, and commercial advisers), relevant regulatory agencies and industry participants

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Degree or post graduate qualification in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Actuarial or similar level commercial or technical discipline
  • At least 5 years experience working in infrastructure company or Investment Banking, Private Equity or Infrastructure Funds Management with a background in the infrastructure, utilities or renewable energy sector
  • Possess strong quantitative and analytical skills to be able to conduct financial analysis, valuation and forecasting
  • Ability to create compelling written documents and presentations presenting and supporting the financial analysis that has been undertaken
  • Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Teams).
  • Knowledge of securities and M&A regulations
  • Proactive, detail-oriented and ambitious personality
  • Ability to work autonomously / independently to identify new project opportunities and develop existing opportunities.
  • Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
