This role is suited to individuals with strong multi-asset expertise across capital markets, portfolio construction, derivatives and structured products, who can partner Relationship Managers and Advisors and engage clients independently.
Summary of Job Role
The Investment Counsellor is the technical bridge between the house view and the client relationship. The role spans multi-asset portfolio construction, translating the Global Investment Committee's views into recommendations, active advisory and trade ideas across cash and derivative instruments, and partnering RMs and Advisors to manage, retain and win client relationships.

- Structure and price derivatives and structured solutions across FX, equity ETD, OTC and structured products across multiple custodian banks, as satellite and hedging overlays.
- Apply disciplined portfolio construction (diversification, risk budgeting, scenario and stress analysis) and clearly articulate the risk/return trade-offs of each recommendation.
- Translate the Global Investment Committee's house view and product shelf into specific, actionable recommendations for Advisors and clients.
- Partner Relationship Managers and Advisors to review and monitor portfolios, develop investment strategies and deliver timely advice and execution.
- Lead client investment conversations independently – present ideas, handle questions under pressure and take ownership of the advisory outcome.
- Support business development – retain and deepen existing relationships and help win new client assets through the strength and credibility of the advice.
- Keep RMs, Advisors and clients current on market and asset-class developments and changes in house positioning.
- Ensure strict adherence to MAS regulatory, suitability and compliance requirements, including both pre-trade and post-trade procedures.
- Additional responsibilities apply from time to time.
