The Role
An Investment Associate position within the Innovation team at a global venture capital firm, based in Singapore. The team invests across the global venture and growth-stage ecosystem, covering funds, platforms, and direct investments. Core geographic focus is North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia, with an emphasis on disruptive technologies and category-defining companies.
Likely Focus
- Identifying sectoral developments and assessing fund and direct investment opportunities in early-stage and high-growth sectors
- Conducting research and financial analysis on assigned sub-sectors, companies, and funds
- Building financial models and presentations for internal evaluation and investment committees
- Structuring and executing new fund and direct investments, and supporting divestments where relevant
- Monitoring existing portfolio assets against investment theses
- Building and maintaining relationships with companies, fund partners, research analysts, and other institutions, including travel
- Supporting regular portfolio reporting and periodic firm-wide strategic initiatives
Expected Profile
- Strong academic background in any discipline, with a genuine interest in investing
- One to two years of full-time experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or corporate finance
- Demonstrated financial modelling skills, including operating models, valuation models, and return models covering investment assessment, portfolio performance, and exit scenarios
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills
- Comfortable working across diverse teams and with multiple stakeholders
- Self-directed, with the ability to manage competing priorities independently
- Familiarity with data platforms such as Bloomberg, Factiva, Capital IQ, Pitchbook, and Preqin, and standard productivity tools including Microsoft Office
