Investment Analyst (Junior, 2y-3y)

Role Overview

Our client is an independent investment management firm focused on delivering disciplined, research-driven investment solutions for institutional and private clients. We leverage rigorous manager selection, portfolio construction, and risk management processes to build diversified portfolios across global asset classes.

We are seeking a highly motivated and intellectually curious Investment Analyst to support the firm's portfolio managers in the oversight and management of discretionary portfolios and multi-manager investment strategies. The successful candidate will play a key role in manager research, investment due diligence, portfolio analysis, client reporting, and investment communications.

Key Responsibilities

Fund Research & Due Diligence

.Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of mutual funds, ETFs, alternative investment strategies, and external investment managers.

.Perform initial and ongoing due diligence on investment managers, including evaluation of:

.Participate in manager meetings, conference calls, and due diligence reviews.

.Monitor approved investment managers and identify material developments that may impact investment recommendations.

.Prepare investment research reports and manager review memorandums for the investment committee and portfolio managers.

.Maintain internal manager databases, research files, and due diligence records.

Portfolio Analytics & Investment Support

.Support portfolio managers with tactical and strategic asset allocation reviews.

.Conduct portfolio and market analysis to identify investment risks and opportunities.

.Monitor portfolio exposures, performance, and compliance with investment guidelines.

.Analyse portfolio performance across sectors, asset classes, regions, and investment managers.

.Assist in evaluating fund switches, portfolio rebalancing opportunities, and new investment recommendations.

.Support the development of investment themes and market insights through ongoing macroeconomic and market research.

.Track key market developments, economic indicators, central bank actions, and industry trends relevant to portfolio positioning.

Investment Reporting

.Prepare periodic portfolio reviews, performance reports, and investment updates for clients and internal stakeholders.

.Generate portfolio analytics, attribution reports, and benchmarking analysis.

.Ensure investment data accuracy and consistency across reporting systems.

.Maintain performance databases and support reporting automation initiatives where appropriate.

Client & Distribution Support

.Work closely with portfolio managers to support client meetings, distributor engagements, and investment presentations.

.Assist in responding to client and consultant requests, including portfolio information, manager updates, and market commentary.

.Prepare and maintain: Pitch books, Factsheets, Investment presentations, Quarterly investment commentaries, Product and portfolio update materials

.Translate complex investment concepts into clear and actionable messages suitable for clients and distribution partners.

Investment Process & Operational Support

.Support investment committee meetings through preparation of research materials and meeting documentation.

.Contribute to the enhancement of investment research frameworks, portfolio monitoring tools, and reporting processes.

.Work closely with operations, compliance, and external service providers to ensure accurate implementation and monitoring of investment strategies.

.Assist in the development and automation of analytical tools, databases, and reporting templates.

Required Skills and Qualifications

.Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field preferable CFA designation (or progress toward it) is highly regarded.

.Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in investment analysis, portfolio or fund research, or a similar investment role.

.Excellent Excel skills required VBA or equivalent programming capability is advantageous.

.Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable investment insights.

.Strong writing skills for crafting clear and persuasive research reports and client communications.

.Clear communicator / presenter capable of representing the investment team with professionalism and clarity.
