Investment Analyst (Japanese or Korean speaking)

JOB DESCRIPTION : INVESTMENT ANALYST (JAPANESE OR KOREAN SPEAKING)

Our client is a leading private equity firm focused on Asia-Pacific with an impressive investment track record over the past 2 decades specializing in mid-market investments through primary funds, secondary transactions, and co-investments.

Managing a multi-billion USD AUM across multiple funds, the firm has established relationships with top tier venture capital, growth capital and buyout funds, as well as leading private companies across Asia-Pacific. From this established and stable platform, they have also been investing in Japan and Korea for nearly 20 years.

As they continue to expand in the region, they are now recruiting a bright and motivated InvestmentAnalyst to join its investment team based in Singapore, focused on their investments in Japan and/or Korea. The successful candidate will gain deep insight into the Asian private equity industry and a wide range of investment skills by working closely with a team of seasoned private equity professionals.

Responsibilities

Investments Analysis and Due Diligence

• Conduct in-depth analysis and due diligence on potential fund investments, secondary investments, and co-investments
• Work independently or with other team members on deal analysis
• Prepare investment memos for investment committee meetings, including detailed data analyses and presentations
• Assist with execution of NDAs, offer letters, purchase agreements, and legal documentation
• Regular travel to Japan and/or Korea to engage potential investment targets or portfolio funds/companies.

Portfolio Monitoring and Reporting

• Perform analysis on portfolio performance and prepare investor reports
• Develop commentary and investment information for annual meetings and portfolio reviews

Investor Relations

• Support the team with investor events and inquiries
• Conduct research for marketing, deal sourcing, and fundraising initiatives

Qualifications / Experience

• Bachelor's degree
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity/venture capital, Big 4 accounting, or management consulting
• Experience in financial modelling, financial statement analysis, accounting, and equity valuation
• Due to the need for this hire to work extensively in the Japanese and/or Korean market to engage local target and portfolio companies, strong communication skills in either Japanese and/or Korean will be required.
