About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Investment Analyst to join their investment team on a 9-month contract basis. This role will support investment research, portfolio monitoring, market analysis, and reporting activities across various asset classes.
The ideal candidate should possess strong financial modelling capabilities, investment research experience, and a solid understanding of financial markets. This opportunity is well-suited for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced and data-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Research & Analysis
- Conduct detailed research and analysis on equities, fixed income, funds, and other investment products.
- Monitor financial markets, macroeconomic developments, and industry trends to support investment decision-making.
- Perform financial modelling, valuation analysis, and scenario assessments.
- Prepare investment summaries, market commentaries, and research reports for internal stakeholders.
Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting
- Support the monitoring of investment portfolios to ensure alignment with investment objectives and risk parameters.
- Track portfolio performance, asset allocation, and market movements.
- Assist in preparing regular portfolio reports, investment presentations, and management updates.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of investment data and reporting materials.
Due Diligence & Risk Assessment
- Support investment due diligence processes including financial analysis and documentation reviews.
- Evaluate investment risks and highlight key concerns or opportunities.
- Assist with monitoring compliance with investment guidelines and internal policies.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with portfolio managers, investment teams, finance, and operations stakeholders.
- Liaise with external fund managers, custodians, and financial institutions where required.
- Support ad-hoc investment projects, market studies, and strategic initiatives.
Process Improvement & Operational Support
- Assist in streamlining investment reporting and analytical processes.
- Support automation or enhancement initiatives relating to investment analytics and reporting tools.
- Maintain organised investment records and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience in investment analysis, portfolio management support, equity research, or financial analysis would be advantageous.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg, Reuters, or other financial research platforms is preferred.
- Good understanding of financial markets, investment products, and portfolio concepts.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage large sets of financial data accurately.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Candidates with progress towards CFA or other professional investment qualifications will have an added advantage.
