Job Description

We are currently working with a rapidly growing data centre developer and operator with an expanding footprint across Asia Pacific. With a strong development pipeline and a focus on delivering sustainable, hyperscale-ready facilities, they are seeking an Investment Manager to join their team in Singapore.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving investment strategy, execution, and portfolio management across our regional platform. You will work closely with senior management to originate, evaluate, and structure investment opportunities, including greenfield developments, acquisitions, and joint ventures.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing an investment strategy based on the Company's goals and risk appetite, then managing an existing portfolio or creating new data centre investment opportunities and portfolios that are aligned with the strategy
  • Devising and evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions
  • Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies
  • Staying up to date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems
  • Conducting meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings
  • Evaluating data centre clients goals and objectives, contributing to team development of relationship strategy, identifying areas of improvement and keeping new investments aligned with the Company's boarder strategy
  • Modelling business processes and identifying opportunities for process improvements, supporting the identification, development and implementation of new investments (brown field / green field / platform acquisition) in the assigned country, and ensuring allocation of resources to achieve optimal IRR
  • Constructing successful investment portfolios informed by market conditions and economic trends, analysing commercial data such as budgets, sales results and forecasts
  • Determining acceptable risk levels for the Company based on time horizon, risk appetite, expected return and market conditions
  • Monitoring investment performance to identify changes in market trends that may require adjustments to the investment strategy
  • Working with other team members to develop an investment plan for new projects, which may include educating partners, vendors / stakeholders about the new investment projects
  • Responsible for the management of existing assets, working closely with the country manager and assets operation team to provide a forecast annual budget (CAPEX & OPEX) of each asset that meets underwriting EBIDTA, without compromising the resiliency of each asset to meet client service level agreements
  • Focusing on the entire process from beginning to end, introducing innovation into the process that can impact results, enhance profitability and assist the Company to meet business objectives and goals
  • Performing research on companies and industries to assess their potential as investment / partnership opportunities
  • Monitoring investment risk by adjusting the mix of assets within a portfolio according to changing market conditions
  • Monitoring company performance to identify potential takeover candidates
  • Supporting business transition and helping to establish change
  • Ensuring compliance with standards provided by regulatory organizations, including conformance with investor disclosures, privacy laws, anti-money laundering requirements and anti-fraud measures
  • Prospecting for new clients
  • Staying up to date with relevant investment, domain news, and economic trends

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate, or related discipline; CFA or MBA preferred.
  • 58 years of relevant experience in investment management, private equity, infrastructure, or real estate, ideally with exposure to data centres.
  • Strong financial modelling and deal execution skills.
  • Proven track record in raising capital and managing investor relationships.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with regional exposure.
