About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Logistics and Inventory Ops Specialist to join the Logistics Planning team. This role oversees logistics operations to support transportation, consolidation, and provisioning activities for ships. The position will partner closely with procurement services, 3PL and logistics vendors, and internal operating areas to ensure seamless coordination of product and information flow from origin to destination.
This role requires travel onboard vessels to maintain Location Operating Guidelines (LOGs), audit onboard operations, ensure compliance with Local Health & Sanitation Requirements and Coast Guard regulations, and drive consistency and standardization across operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage provisioning scheduling, setup, and communications with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct quarterly performance reviews for dedicated provision providers.
- Research and assess new port itineraries to support expanding cruise operations.
- Partner with Supply Chain Logistics, Trade Compliance, and external partners for smooth coordination of goods movement.
- Work with sourcing specialists to ensure PO data accuracy and collaborate with expeditors to track shipments and manage expedited requests.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and propose solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Participate in cross-training initiatives to strengthen shipboard hotel stores operations.
- Ensure shipboard teams comply with Location Operating Guidelines (LOGs) and Safety Management Systems (SMS).
- Manage ordering systems & receipts for third-party F&B vendors.
- Support shipboard teams in preparation and execution of new itineraries, as well as guest and crew events.
- Schedule and facilitate staff meetings with Hotel Stores Managers.
- Oversee accuracy and effectiveness of training programs.
- Contribute to new system implementations for inventory management across the fleet.
- Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Manager of Hotel Port Operations.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the cruise line industry, hotel logistics, back-of-house food and beverage operations, inventory, warehousing, 3PL, or hotel storekeeping.
- Excellent operational knowledge of cruise line provisioning and logistics processes.
- Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and relevant databases.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
