Job Description

Job Title: International Student Liaison Manager

Department: Student Affairs / International Office
Location: Little India, Singapore
Reports to: Director of Student Services / Principal

Job Purpose:

The International Student Liaison Manager is responsible for managing and enhancing the support framework for international students. The role includes overseeing daily operations, ensuring regulatory compliance (ICA & MOM), and delivering a high-quality student experience. The Manager will supervise a junior executive and act as a role model and coach to the team while fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and culturally sensitive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision & Leadership:
    Supervise, coach, and mentor the International Student Liaison Executive in day-to-day operations.
    Oversee and delegate tasks effectively to ensure smooth running of student support services.
    Promote a collaborative and performance-oriented culture within the team.
  • Student Support & Engagement:
    Act as the main liaison for international students, assisting them with matters related to their stay, wellbeing, and integration.
    Organize and lead orientation programs, cultural adjustment initiatives, and ongoing support activities.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    Ensure strict compliance with ICA (Immigration and Checkpoints Authority) Student's Pass requirements and MOM (Ministry of Manpower) regulations.
    Manage and monitor student pass applications, renewals, cancellations, and reporting obligations in a timely and accurate manner.
    Maintain accurate and up-to-date records as required by the Committee for Private Education (CPE).
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    Communicate effectively with students, parents, external agencies, and regulatory bodies.
    Negotiate with landlords, service providers, or partners on student-related matters (e.g., housing, welfare).
  • Crisis Management & Escalation:
    Handle grievances and escalate serious matters appropriately to senior management.
    Provide first-line support during emergencies or issues involving international students.

Job Requirements:

  • Education & Experience:
    Bachelor's Degree in Education, Business, International Relations, or a related field.
    Minimum 3-5 years of experience in international student affairs or private education administration, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge & Skills:
    Strong working knowledge of ICA Student's Pass processes and MOM regulations affecting foreign students and trainees.
    Understanding of the Private Education Act and CPE requirements.
    Excellent communication, interpersonal, and cross-cultural sensitivity skills.
    Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and coaching abilities.
    High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
